Blue Fox Camp
Looking for the ultimate trout fishing adventure? Blue Fox Camp is the answer. Accessed by float-plane or ATV only and surrounded by remote wilderness, the crystal clear, spring-fed lakes of Blue Fox Camp are a trout fishing paradise. Our lodges offer anglers the unique opportunity to catch three species of trophy-sized, naturally occurring trout (brook, lake, and rainbow) on the same lake and even on the same day.
Located within a few hours of major cities such as Toronto, Detroit, and Sault Ste Marie, we offer some of the best trout fishing in northern Ontario along with first-class food, lodging, and customer service. Contact our team to book the fishing trip of a lifetime.
Blue Fox Camp and Blue Fox Outpost are fishing, hunting, and outdoor adventure lodges that provide a true wilderness experience in the Blue Lake System, an area we consider one of the jewels of Canada’s north country. First-time guests at Blue Fox can expect friendly faces and excellent customer service to welcome you and provide an introduction to the lodge. Returning guests know that our team will help to get everything unloaded and set up, in order to hit the lake or the trail as soon as possible. With the help of the friendly and knowledgeable Blue Fox team, our goal is for guests to relax and enjoy the fishing and natural beauty of the area.
A September trip to Blue Fox Camp
What’s the best time of year in northern Ontario? If you like autumn colours, big fish, warm days, and cool nights, then September is truly the best month to plan a trip to Blue Fox Camp. As an added bonus, there are no bugs to ruin an otherwise perfect day of fishing, swimming, hiking, and canoeing.
The brook trout are a deep orange and red colour in the fall and the rainbow trout are shallower due to the cooler water temperature. Both species are on the feed to fatten up for winter, and the chances are good that you latch onto a 7 or 8 pound brook trout in one of our back lakes.

Blue Fox Camp and Blue Fox Outpost are located on Kirkpatrick (Blue) Lake, approximately 50 kilometers northeast of Blind River in the Algoma Highlands. The Blue Lake System consists of 6 feeder lakes which discharge into Blue Lake, all of which contain naturally reproducing Lake Trout, Rainbow Trout and Brook Trout. This diversity of naturally reproducing trout is found in less than 1% of the lakes in Canada, which has led to the entire Blue Lake System being designated as a fish sanctuary within the Little White River Provincial Park. In addition to the natural trout stock, approximately 50 back lakes accessible from camp are included as part of a regular “world class” brook trout stocking program where +7 pound brookies are not uncommon.
In addition to fantastic trout fishing, Blue Fox has something for everyone to make for an unforgettable wilderness vacation. Canoeing, swimming, hiking, sports, steam sauna, trips to the waterfall, shore lunches on the back lakes and relaxing in our wilderness library are just a few of the activities that are available.
We want everyone to have the chance to visit an area that we consider one of the best in Canada and to love the camp as much as we do. A trip to Blue Fox Camp will change your outlook on life, recharge your batteries and hopefully leave you wanting to plan your next trip.
Our top-notch team is at your disposal. Contact us for the trip of a lifetime; it’s a decision you won’t regret.
